Job Title: UiPath Business Analyst
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid and remote option based on client request)
Duration: 9-Month Contract-to-Hire
Employment Type: W2 Contract-to-Hire
Start Date: Immediate / As Soon As Available
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled UiPath Business Analyst to support automation initiatives within a high-visibility transformation program. The ideal candidate has strong process analysis experience, hands-on exposure to UiPath automation delivery, and the ability to collaborate closely with business SMEs, Solution Architects, and UiPath Developers to deliver scalable, high-quality automation solutions.
This role is perfect for someone who understands both the business side of process optimization and the technical requirements needed to translate business needs into automated UiPath workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Process Analysis & Documentation
  • Partner with cross-functional business SMEs to gather, validate, and define detailed business process requirements.
  • Analyze current-state processes and recommend improvements using Lean Six Sigma principles.
  • Create detailed Process Definition Documents (PDDs) and Solution Design Documents (SDDs) required for UiPath development.
  • Map current and future-state workflows using BPMN or equivalent diagramming standards.
  • Identify automation opportunities and evaluate feasibility based on business rules, volumes, complexity, and exception scenarios.

Automation Project Execution
  • Work directly with UiPath Solution Architects and Developers to translate business requirements into fully defined automation solutions.
  • Define business rules, data inputs/outputs, decision points, and system interactions.
  • Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by creating test cases, validating outputs, and ensuring bot performance meets business expectations.
  • Maintain and update process documentation through bot lifecycle (development → UAT → deployment → production).

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as the primary liaison between business teams and the automation CoE.
  • Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders to explain automation capabilities, expected outcomes, and business impacts.
  • Present process improvements and benefits derived from automation initiatives.
  • Provide onboarding/training support for business users interacting with automated workflows.

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Process Analyst, or Automation Analyst.
  • 2+ years supporting UiPath RPA implementations (Automations, CoE initiatives, or enterprise-scale RPA programs).
  • Proven ability to document business processes using modern process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Blueworks Live, etc.).
  • Experience producing PDDs, SDDs, and business requirements documentation for UiPath development.
  • Strong understanding of RPA delivery lifecycle (discovery → design → development → UAT → deployment).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience coordinating with development teams and IT/business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • UiPath Business Analyst Foundation, UiARD, or UiRPA certification.
  • Experience in automation programs within regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, insurance, etc.).
  • Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform or other automation tools.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML capabilities and how they integrate with automation workflows.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or equivalent process improvement training).

Contract-to-Hire Conversion Expectations
  • Strong performance across requirements gathering, documentation quality, communication, and delivery cadence.
  • Ability to collaborate and demonstrate ownership of assigned automation workstreams.
  • Eligible for full-time conversion after successful 9-month contract period.
