Job Summary
The Automation Manager will directly report to Director of Enterprise Architecture & Application Development and is responsible for executing enterprise automation projects and managing the day-to-day operations of the automation platform. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure automation solutions using UiPath, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and business priorities. The Automation Manager will lead a distributed team of developers and analysts, oversee platform operations, and collaborate with business stakeholders to implement approved use cases. As the organization is in the early stages of automation adoption, this role is critical in establishing a strong foundation for scaling automation capabilities across the enterprise
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable, reusable, and secure RPA solutions using UiPath, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and analysts to gather requirements, define automation scope, and lead process optimization workshops.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation including Process Definition Documents (PDDs), Solution Design Documents (SDDs), and operational runbooks.
  • Provide technical guidance and thought leadership on RPA implementation, intelligent automation techniques, and integration with AI and emerging agent-based automation technologies.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the automation platform, including UiPath Orchestrator components (robots, schedules, assets, queues), ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Monitor and support production bots, proactively identifying and resolving failures or performance issues; coordinate with UiPath support and infrastructure/cloud teams for incident resolution within defined SLAs.
  • Participate in platform evolution and capacity planning, including infrastructure scaling, license management, and performance tuning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (applications, infrastructure, security, QA) to ensure seamless deployment, compliance, and support of automation solutions.
  • Lead and mentor a distributed team of RPA developers (onshore and offshore), conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to development methodologies and quality standards.
  • Assign and prioritize work across the automation team to align with project timelines and business priorities.
  • Monitor individual and team performance, conduct regular check-ins, and deliver constructive feedback.
  • Enforce automation best practices, development methodologies, and compliance with SDLC and change management processes.
  • Support cross-training and knowledge-sharing initiatives to build team resilience and ensure continuity of operations.
  • Support citizen development initiatives by providing governance, training, and oversight to ensure quality and compliance of business-led automations.
  • Track and report on automation performance metrics, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and contribute to the automation roadmap in partnership with leadership.
  • Consult and provide expert guidance on implementing RPA technologies, techniques, and processes to transform and enhance current business operations.
  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
  • Protect Chamberlain Group's reputation by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience:
  • 10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years of hands-on UiPath experience in developing, deploying, and supporting enterprise-grade RPA solutions.
  • 3+ years managing RPA operations, including platform administration, bot orchestration, and production support.
  • Proven ability to design, deploy, and maintain scalable UiPath automation solutions; familiarity with Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of UiPath components (Orchestrator, Studio, Automation Cloud, Insights), REFramework, exception handling, logging, and reusable component design.
  • Experience integrating automation across enterprise systems (e.g., Salesforce, ERP platforms, APIs) and working within Agile / SDLC / DevOps environments.
  • Hands-on, proactive, execution-focused, with strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Deep knowledge of the Robotic Enterprise Framework, exception handling, logging, and reusable component design.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven automation and emerging agentic AI technologies; ability to expand automation capabilities into intelligent automation domains

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate high-performance teams in a hybrid or distributed environment.
  • Expertise in developing complex automation for applications such as Web, Desktop, MS Office, and enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize existing systems.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with the latest RPA tools, AI integrations, and automation innovations.
  • Certifications in UiPath preferred.

Other: Preferred Qualifications
Education/Certifications:

  • UiPath certifications (e.g., Advanced RPA Developer, Solution Architect).
  • Familiarity with process mining, task mining, and citizen development governance.

Experience:
  • Experience with intelligent automation tools (e.g., Document Understanding, AI Center).
  • Experience in automating solutions in enterprise environments with ERP, CRM, or other core business systems.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in UiPath Studio, Orchestrator, and related components.
  • Strong understanding of RPA development frameworks, exception handling, and logging.

The pay range for this position is $102,600.00 - $193,425.00; base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
