A roadmaster is a managerial position, working on a railroad. In this job, you are assigned a specific territory, and are responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all tracks within your roadway. Your duties include performing inspections and managing the quality of the railroad tracks in your territory. A roadmaster must keep up to date with all regulations for railroad maintenance as well as the standards set by the individual railroad companies. You are also responsible for managing the trains that enter your territory. No train may go through a specific track line without approval of that line’s roadmaster. As such, you have tremendous responsibilities for managing the safety and efficiency of the railroad system.
