Location: Phoenix, AZ

About the Role
Star Roofing is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Service Superintendent to oversee and lead our commercial roofing service operations. This leadership role is responsible for managing multiple service crews, coordinating daily operations, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining quality standards, and delivering exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive commercial roofing knowledge, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage people, projects, and profitability in a fast-paced service environment.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the commercial roofing service department
  • Manage and support multiple service crews to ensure safety, productivity, and quality performance
  • Diagnose complex roofing issues and provide technical guidance to field personnel
  • Coordinate scheduling, manpower allocation, materials, and equipment resources
  • Ensure all work is completed according to company standards and manufacturer specifications
  • Maintain a proven "Safety First" culture and enforce all company safety policies and procedures
  • Train, mentor, and develop Foremen and Service Technicians
  • Monitor job profitability, labor efficiency, and departmental performance metrics
  • Conduct field inspections and quality control audits
  • Review and approve digital work orders, service reports, and documentation
  • Take ownership of customer satisfaction through professional communication and issue resolution
  • Partner with estimating, operations, and sales teams to support service growth
  • Manage conflict resolution and employee performance concerns professionally
  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of commercial roofing service experience
  • Minimum 3+ years of leadership experience managing roofing crews or service operations
  • Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems including:
    • BUR
    • TPO
    • PVC
    • EPDM
    • Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF)
    • Metal Roofing
    • Roof Coatings
  • Proven experience managing multiple crews and projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Experience utilizing mobile technology and software for field documentation and reporting
  • Ability to read plans, specifications, and manufacturer details
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • OSHA certifications and roofing manufacturer certifications are a plus
