Field Safety Specialist

$26–28/hr based on experience + consistent OT of 5-10 hrs/week

Stripe-A-Zone, a Frontline Road Safety Group company, is proudly celebrating its 75th anniversary as an industry leader in pavement marking and roadway safety. Our mission is clear and unwavering: to provide the safest and most reliable pavement marking services on every job, every day. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a strong Field Safety Specialist to support and elevate our daily fleet, compliance, and safety efforts.

Position Overview:

The Field Safety Specialist position ensures workers, the public, and equipment are safe by identifying hazards, following established safety rules, conducting training (PPE, work zones), and auditing sites, requiring knowledge of regulations, risk assessment, and strong collaboration with project teams to integrate safety into their daily operations. They will audit operations, track incidents, and maintain safety records all while promoting a strong safety culture to prevent workplace accidents and injuries.  They will help ensure crews adhere to the safety rules and policies administered by leadership, coordinating with departments to support hazard mitigation.

This position requires approximately 75% field and job-site presence throughout the DFW region. Some further visits might require weekday overnight stays and requires availability of being present at some NIGHT work. When not traveling, this role is on-site at our Grand Prairie headquarters.

Job Duties

  • Perform regular site visits throughout Texas, and anywhere else crews may be working.
  • Document Site Visits and submit information in a weekly summary. (including date, location, time of arrival/departure, foreman/crew, vehicles, and pictures/videos)
  • Ensure the crews are following all required local, state, and federal regulations. (job specific when necessary…TXDOT)
  • Onsite safety corrections and discipline when necessary.
  • Accident response and Investigation from inception to closure.
  • Conduct investigations of all incidents involving hazardous materials, equipment, or employee injuries.  Communicate findings from incidents and drive appropriate corrective action.
  • Handle any After-Hours Safety calls during seasonal night work.
  • Conduct safety meetings as needed for both Grand Prairie & Marshall offices. (Monthly/Quarterly)
  • Periodically review pre/post trip vehicle inspections and drivers logs.
  • Execution of in-house drug testing for DOT & Non-DOT employees (New Hire/Random/Post Accident/Reasonable Suspicion)
  • Execute Project Specific JHA/JSA/SSSP/Silica plans when required
  • Manage any Project Specific Drug Testing/Badging/Training/PPE requirements with contractor
  • Training/Re-Training (New Hire/Forklift Cert/Flagger/1st Aid/CPR)
  • Assistance and future management of SPCC plans for both locations and other environmental compliance items needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of EHS experience, including field safety.
  • Claims management experience a plus.
  • Experience in road construction, fleet management, and DOT compliance strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, FMCSR, MUTCD, and DOT regulations.
  • Contractor Responsible Person, Train the Trainer Flagger, and/or TMA Operator Trainer certifications a major plus.
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills for training and collaboration.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid and active Driver’s License required. CDL a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
 Work Location

Primarily on the road, with on-site responsibilities at Grand Prairie HQ.
