Job description

Position Overview
Fusion Safety is seeking a Construction Safety Auditor to provide auditing and consulting services for our customers on commercial construction sites across Ohio. While most assignments will be in the Cincinnati area, occasional travel to sites in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and beyond may be required.
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience across multiple facets of building construction, combined with a strong background in safety auditing, compliance, and performance coaching. This individual must be comfortable working with Owners, Construction Managers, General Contractors, and Subcontractors, while maintaining a constructive and collaborative approach to safety.
Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct formal safety audits on active construction sites, identifying both compliance gaps and best practices.
  • Document audit findings and safety observations (positive and corrective) in standardized reports or designated software.
  • Facilitate orientations, toolbox talks, and pre-shift safety huddles as needed.
  • Serve as a resource to clients in addressing safety challenges and implementing corrective actions.
  • Provide input during pre-bid and pre-construction phases to help anticipate safety concerns and recommend proactive measures.
  • Engage directly with trades and contractors to correct unsafe behaviors in a constructive, coaching-oriented manner.
  • Lead or support incident investigations, ensuring accurate reporting and actionable recommendations.
  • Develop and deliver clear, professional reports, safety plans, and technical documents using Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in construction safety, EHS Management and similar roles.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, safety management systems, and behavior-based safety practices.
  • Experience working with Owners, CM’s, GC’s, and Subcontractors.
  • Ability to climb ladders, access elevated work areas, and walk construction job sites for up to 80% of the workday.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coach, mentor, and influence safe behaviors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Familiarity with reporting software, and the ability to produce professional audit reports and documentation.
