Asphalt Paving Superintendent

Company Name: BRIXCO Construction, Inc.

Location: Milpitas, CA (Regional Project Deployment)

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Schedule: Monday – Friday (With flexibility for occasional night and weekend shifts based on project requirements)

Industry: Civil Construction, Utilities & Heavy Sitework

Pay Range: $115,000.00 – $145,000.00 per year (Based on Experience)

The Opportunity

Command Heavy Civil Paving Operations. Lead Elite Crews and Drive Production Infrastructure.

BRIXCO Construction, Inc. is seeking a high-caliber, authoritative Asphalt Paving Superintendent to direct our comprehensive horizontal asphalt, surface treatment, and pavement marking portfolio. Operating across high-volume roadway paving, municipal infrastructure, parking lot developments, and large-scale commercial sitework, our firm relies on field commanders who take total, hands-on ownership of production metrics and technical execution.

This role is engineered for an autonomous field leader who can seamlessly manage multiple moving parts—from grading handoffs and heavy rolling patterns to milling logistics and final striping details. You will hold complete site authority, supervising field crews and trade subcontractors while protecting target profit margins and timeline constraints. If you are a safety-minded asphalt specialist with strong bilingual communication skills who wants to lead a premier paving division without corporate red tape, BRIXCO Construction provides the equipment, back-end support, and steady regional pipeline to elevate your career.

Key Responsibilities

You will serve as the absolute on-site authority from initial grading mobilization through final striping handover, owning schedule compliance, material parameters, and quality control:

  • Field Operations Command: Supervise and sequence daily field operations for asphalt paving, including subgrade grading coordination, mat paving, rolling patterns, joint construction, and technical quality control.
  • Surface Protection & Markings: Oversee specialized seal coating and pavement striping operations, ensuring final delivery matches precise engineering standards and client brand guidelines.
  • Logistics & Resource Architecture: Schedule and optimize daily allocations for manpower, hot-mix material delivery, trucking fleets, and heavy equipment logistics to maintain aggressive construction schedules.
  • Technical Quality Supervision: Audit and manage real-time asphalt delivery temperatures, material yields, density requirements, and roller compaction procedures to guarantee a flawless, zero-defect finish.
  • Bilingual Crew Mentorship: Manage, train, and mentor on-site field crews in both English and Spanish, translating complex specifications into actionable field instructions while driving production goals.
  • Civil Plan Interpretation: Read, interpret, and cross-reference civil engineering drawings, grading plans, specifications, and regulatory guidelines across multiple active projects simultaneously.
  • Strict Safety & Traffic Control: Conduct mandatory daily safety meetings and strictly enforce OSHA and company protection standards, including the correct layout of complex traffic control and flagging operations.
  • Administrative Quantities Tracking: Track and report daily field material quantities, labor hours, equipment utilization rates, and project progress metrics to support accurate reporting and billing.

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

  • Superintendent Tenure: 5+ years of verified professional experience within heavy civil paving and civil infrastructure construction, with a minimum of 2 years operating successfully in a Superintendent or Lead Field Foreman capacity.
  • Linguistic Fluency: Must be completely bilingual in verbal and written English and Spanish (strictly required to support crew safety and field coordination).
  • Technical Trade Mastery: Deep operational knowledge of asphalt laydown procedures, compaction requirements, roadway and parking lot engineering, milling sequencing, seal coating chemistry, and striping methods.
  • Civil Blueprint Literacy: Advanced ability to read, navigate, and build directly from complex civil engineering drawings, structural specs, and layout grids.
  • Logistics Command: Proven track record coordinating paving equipment maintenance, haul trucking logistics, hot-mix plant timing, and specialty trade subcontractors.
  • Mobility & Schedule Flexibility: Possession of a valid Driver’s License with a clean, insurable driving history, along with the flexibility to work night or weekend phases when required by municipal paving permits.

Compensation & Premium Benefits

We treat our infrastructure leaders as primary business partners, providing a high-end total rewards framework to back your field career:

  • Competitive Top-Tier Salary: $115,000.00 – $145,000.00 per year customized directly to your asphalt background and field management history.
  • Stable Earnings & Industry Pipeline: Secure, full-time permanent position within an established, high-volume civil general contractor with an extensive Northern California project backup.
  • Advanced Technology Package: Access to premium corporate mobile tech (smartphone or tablet) for modern digital field documentation and tracking.
  • Professional Career Development: Structured internal advancement opportunities to elevate your career into senior operations and regional management tiers.
  • Collaborative Culture: Work within a transparent field framework built on performance, shared victory, and mutual respect.
