Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center requiring 2 years of ED experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details
  • work in the Emergency Department of a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center hospital
  • 1:3 patient ratios
  • night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
  • required to work 6 weekends per 6-week period
  • no on-call responsibilities
  • no floating between units required, though floating between sister facilities may be expected
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • block scheduling approved but not required
Requirements
  • active TX or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of submission
  • minimum 2 years of ED experience required (hardstop requirement)
  • certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
  • community hospital experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
  • experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and central line care/management
  • experience with neurological conditions including CVA
  • experience with isolation precautions/PPE, triage, and medication administration including IV vasopressors
  • experience with cardiac monitoring and management of dysrhythmias
  • 2 references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years, which may include Charge RNs/Leads
  • teaching hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • previous charge experience preferred
