American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a PCU Float position on nights, requiring prior travel nursing experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details
  • PCU Float unit supporting primarily Med Surg
  • Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
  • 36/48 hour alternating schedule required
  • Weekend work required as needed, potentially most weekends
  • Block scheduling may be accommodated but set schedules cannot be guaranteed
  • Floating required to support Med Surg
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
Requirements
  • Active TX or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic charting system experience preferred
  • Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line management, and blood product administration
  • Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry
  • Experience with insulin protocols and drip titration
  • Wound care and isolation precaution skills
Additional Information
  • Provide nursing care across Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and Med Surg/Tele settings
  • Manage patients with cardiovascular, renal, neurological, and GI conditions
  • Support rapid response and code team activations as needed
  • Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius, as local candidates are not accepted
