Direct Support Professional - As Needed

Job Summary:

Direct Support Professionals in staffed residences:
  • Provide assistance in a home setting for 2-3 adult individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Support assigned individuals' direct care needs including but not limited to getting dressed, bathing and showering, toileting and hygiene needs, grocery shopping, feeding, medication administration, assistance with walking and/or wheelchair mobility, preparation of meals and snacks as needed, companionship, and facilitation of activities to increase community inclusion.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as requested to support individuals in discussions of their person-centered service plans with regard to their health, safety, and overall wellbeing.
  • Assist individuals to work toward and achieve their individualized service goals when applicable.
  • Work together as a team with other staff assigned to the home to ensure the day-to-day functionality of the home under the guidance of the Assistant Residential Director.
  • Be willing to work where needed in the Owensboro and Henderson service areas and stay overnight in the home.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have a high school diploma/GED OR must have at least one year of experience working with people with disabilities.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must currently possess or be able to complete first aid and CPR certification (training provided).
