Job description

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a People Analytics Lead to own the strategic direction and operational maturity of the People Analytics function. This role is responsible for transforming People Analytics at HRT into an insights-driven strategic partner that delivers analytics products to the People Operations team and the broader organization. The People Analytics Lead will architect our people data infrastructure, update governance standards, build dashboards and predictive models, and serve as the primary people analytics advisor to the business.
Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver periodic people analytics insights and reporting covering standard people metrics, tailored both for leadership and company-wide consumption
  • Build predictive models for projections such as headcount growth and time-to-fill forecasting
  • Establish a standardized metrics library with clear definitions, data sources, calculation methodologies, and refresh cadences
  • Architect and govern a single source of truth for people data, replacing fragmented spreadsheets with a structured, auditable data repository
  • Develop and maintain automated dashboards that refresh on schedule and serve self-service needs for People Ops and managers
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable narratives for non-technical audiences, linking data to business outcomes
  • Conduct deep-dive investigations into workforce trends and present findings
  • Partner with other teams to integrate people data with financial and operational datasets for cross-functional insights
  • Set analytics roadmap aligned to People Operations and business strategy, managing competing priorities with a clear intake and prioritization process
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the People Analytics team, building technical skills and business acumen across the team
  • Establish data governance policies including data access controls, privacy compliance, documentation standards, and quality assurance processes
  • Drive stakeholder engagement by proactively identifying high-value analytics opportunities and building trust through consistent, reliable delivery
  • Champion a culture of data literacy across the People Ops function and broader organisation through training, enablement sessions, and accessible reporting

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., I/O Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, Economics); Master's degree in People Analytics, Applied Statistics, Data Science, or an analytics-focused MBA strongly preferred
  • 10+ years progressive people analytics experience
  • 5+ years leading or managing an analytics team (strategy, mentoring, executive presentation)
  • 5+ years embedded within or alongside HR, with expertise across the full employee lifecycle (talent acquisition, engagement, performance, compensation, retention, planning)
  • Experience supporting 1,000+ global or multi-site workforce preferred
  • Expertise in regression, modeling, clustering, factor analysis, and A/B testing for workforce questions
  • Ability to drive AI/LLM solutions for data synthesis and workforce storytelling, with proven prompt engineering skills to automate data requests and executive summaries
  • Experience with advanced SQL (complex joins, CTEs, window functions) and proficiency in Python/R for statistical modeling and data pipeline automation
  • Experience building and maintaining a people data warehouse
  • Deep mastery of Workday analytics (Advanced/Matrix Reporting, Calculated Fields, Prism)
  • Working knowledge of ETL/ELT
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills for ad-hoc analysis; ability and desire to reduce spreadsheet dependency
  • Familiarity with survey platforms (Qualtrics, Culture Amp, Glint) and data integration
  • Familiarity with multi-country data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA)

The estimated base salary range for this position is $225,000-$275,000, based on job-related skills and experience. This role will also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and a competitive benefits package.
