GrayWolf will be seeking Riggers at our Lebanon, IN job site. Riggers can be crane assigned OR bull-rigging

Summary:

A journeyman level Rigger has a minimum of 4 years heavy industrial experience as a Rigger and is responsible for moving extra-heavy equipment, machinery, and materials that are impossible to be moved through conventional methods. A rigger makes use of cranes and lifts to help transport heavy equipment, machinery, or large heavy cargo such as manufacturing equipment or construction machinery.

Essential Duties:

  • Safely and competently identify and use advanced rigging procedures and equipment.
  • Locates needed material or equipment to be moved by lift and secures those materials following safety guidelines.
  • Selects cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, sheaves, slings, chokers, and shackles according to weight and size of load to be moved.
  • Able to understand weight limits of various chokers, shackles, pulleys, winches, blocks, sheaves and cables.
  • Communicates and works cooperatively and effectively with all personnel, good math skills for calculating load requirements.
  • Understand and complete pre-lift checklists and assist operator with lift plans.
  • Must be proficient in the use of hand signals.

Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years minimum heavy industrial field experience as a Rigger.
  • Must possess at a minimum the certification of either NCCCO Rigger Level 1 or NCCER Rigging Intermediate
  • Must have locking toolbox and tools necessary to perform the job.
  • Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.

Physical/Site Requirements:

  • Provide OSHA 10 card and or obtain OSHA 10 within 30 days of hire.
  • Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
  • Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
  • Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
  • Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required.
