Job description

This position reports to:

External/Internal Logistics Manager

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing internal material flow, ensuring efficient inventory handling, and coordinating logistics operations to support seamless production. This role involves improving Kanban activities, overseeing material handlers across all production lines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance supply chain efficiency.

The work model for this role is: Onsite

Key Responsibilities

  • Kanban & Inventory Management: Optimize Kanban systems, reduce waste, ensure accurate replenishment, and proactively manage material shortages and inventory discrepancies using SAP ERP.

  • Material Handling & Logistics: Coordinate material handlers to maintain timely material flow across production lines, reduce handling inefficiencies, and support production schedules.

  • Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency: Identify bottlenecks, drive lean initiatives, collaborate with production/warehouse teams, and advance automation and technology adoption in internal logistics.

  • Compliance, Safety & Leadership: Uphold ABB safety, integrity, and compliance standards; promote HSE awareness; foster collaboration; manage stakeholder relationships; and actively pursue continuous learning and development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.

  • One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with logistic systems (Kanban preferred) and lean manufacturing principles.

  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and material flow processes.

  • Leadership skills to coordinate logistics teams and material handlers.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
