Job description

T-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Senior Engineers, Radio Frequency located in Livonia, MI will provide radio frequency (RF) and/or wireless transmission equipment requirement support; responsible for end-to-end design, deployment and optimization of Next generation networks (macro, small cells).
Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Perform multi band LTE Optimization & Design of LTE 2500, L1900, L2100, and L800 of Macros and Small Cell sites.
• Perform small cells design for coverage and capacity enhancements and identified new hub location. Responsible for end-to-end RF design and deployment, of T-Mobile 3G, 4G and 5G network.
• Perform coverage parity analysis of different 4G, 5G bands, run predictions, and create delta maps.
• Support monthly POR governance (Site prioritization and RFDS).
• Run predictions using performed pops analysis, performed POR objective analysis and enhance 5G coverage based on analysis.
• Perform Opex and Capex analysis for sites with deployment team and provide conclusion based on coverage, users, costing and morphology.
• Parameter tuning (LTE idle and connected mode parameters) and coverage analysis is done to improve the overall performance of the network.
• Troubleshoot areas of customer issues and propose solutions for improvement; perform multi-band load balancing to optimize traffic among LTE carriers and multi-technology load balancing to optimize traffic among technology layer.
• Perform drive testing using Xcal and Tems and analysis of Layer 3 Protocols of drive test log for different technologies such as LTE & 5G.
• Monitor performance indicators for CS and PS domains services in terms of accessibility, retainability, call completion success rate, integrity, mobility, system utilization and availability for Ericsson, Samsung and Nokia OEM's.
• Troubleshoot typical problems like interference, handoff failure, low throughput/ poor SINR.
Specific Skills Requirement - must have educational or professional experience in:
• Experience (1) Demonstrated ability in RF Propagation tools including Planet, Atoll, or comparable tools to design new macro sites, small cells, predict signal quality and interference levels to identify areas of concern and their resulting impacts on coverage and performance and develop corrective recommendation.
• Experience (2) Troubleshoot external and internal interference using spectrum analyzer. Monitor performance indicators for CS and PS domains services in terms of accessibility, retainability, call completion success rate, integrity, mobility, system utilization and availability for Ericsson and Nokia OEM's.
• Experience (3) Perform monthly POR governance analysis using site prioritization, capacity analysis, RFDS, coverage analysis, drive test, and link budget.
• Experience (4) Perform network optimization for 3G, 4G & 5G networks and improved the KPI's which include Call Failure Rate, Call Drop Rate, Data Throughput by analyzing Layer 3 messages of drive logs using Actix or comparable tools.
• Experience (5) Troubleshoot areas of customer issues and propose solutions for improvement; perform multi-band load balancing to optimize traffic among LTE carriers and multi-technology load balancing to optimize traffic among technology layers.
• Experience (6) Perform multi band LTE Optimization & Design of LTE 2500, 1900, L2100, and L800 of Macros and Small Cell sites. Parameter tuning LTE idle and connected mode parameters.
Experience and education requirements:
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer Engineering or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience.
ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.
Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3-4 days per week. No additional national or international travel is anticipated. Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license to perform job-related travel between work sites.

OTHER: Work hours: 40 hours/week. Wage Range: $147,597 to $154,700/year.
Candidate's pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
