Job description

Entity: Owensboro Health System | Department: Finance | Work Hours: Primary Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm | Weekend Requirements: N/A | 1.0 FTE

Job Summary:

Responsible for education of staff within Revenue Cycle departments across the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops and delivers quality, professional, creative, and engaging Epic training programs for end users.

  • Utilizes current knowledge of best practices for adult learning and job training using the appropriate Epic modules and other applications that are interfaced and/or integrated.

  • Conducts technical and operational training with new and current staff regarding Epic system functionality within the Revenue Cycle modules, department operations, and other software and tools in a variety of settings including but not limited to online and classroom.

  • Establishes training goals by presenting a formalized program including all necessary materials, hands-on exercises, knowledge assessments, and competency exams.

  • Collaborates with the IT system Epic Teams, both internal and external stakeholders for developing, coordinating and integrating professional practices and quality audit processes in the department setting.

  • Assists with daily activities including analytics and system review.

  • Assists in publishing a monthly newsletter as directed.

  • Manages assigned projects, team functions, and training schedules.

  • Participates in Epic education team planning and training.

  • Provides on-going support with users to ensure the quality and functionality of their Epic module is being optimized.

  • Provides in-person, telephone, and remote support to users also maintaining a consistent standard process of workflow.

  • Utilizes Epic and HealthStream reports to identify knowledge gaps for users and identifies team members in need of coaching and proactively ensures that the applications are being used efficiently and effectively.

  • Participates in instructional design, team building, and problem-solving programs for Epic application end-users to ensure knowledge and proficient understanding to enhance the overall Revenue Cycle operations.
