What is a returns manager?

Returns Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing the process of product returns within a company. They coordinate the receipt, inspection, and disposition of returned goods, ensuring that company policies and customer satisfaction standards are met. Returns Managers work closely with logistics, customer service, and warehouse teams to streamline returns procedures, minimize losses, and improve the overall returns experience. Their role is vital in maintaining inventory accuracy and reducing the financial impact of product returns.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a returns manager?

To thrive as a Returns Manager, you need expertise in supply chain management, inventory control, and data analysis, often supported by a bachelor’s degree in business or logistics. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP software, and return authorization tools is typically required.
