Job description

Position Title: Client Relationship Manager
The Client Relationship Manager role presents an opportunity to manage an established $4 million portfolio of clients in the Raleigh, NC area. The individual will step into an already established sales territory. The representative will focus on account management, customer relationship development, and the generation of new business opportunities. The position requires a proactive approach to maintain existing relationships while exploring avenues for expansion. Candidates should possess a strong background in packaging equipment sales and demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction and business growth.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $90,000 Base, $150k+ OTE
Client Relationship Manager Responsibilities:
  • Manage and retain an existing $4MM+ million book of business
  • Develop and strengthen customer relationships
  • Conduct visits to customer accounts within the designated territory
  • Generate new business growth, aiming for approximately four new accounts annually
  • Prepare pricing and quotations for clients
  • Oversee customer relationships from sale through fulfillment
  • Collaborate with sourcing, purchasing, transportation, warehouse, and customer service teams
  • Track opportunities and sales activities using CRM systems

Client Relationship Manager Requirements:
  • Reside in the Raleigh, NC area or surrounding market
  • Minimum of three years of packaging sales experience
  • Experience with packaging distributors or packaging manufacturers
  • Managed a book of business of at least $2 million
  • Stable employment history
  • Account management experience
  • Ability to manage existing customer relationships
  • Pass background and drug screening
  • Five or more years of packaging industry sales experience is preferred
  • Experience working for a packaging distributor is preferred
  • Proven success managing a large book of business of $4 million to $6 million is preferred
  • Strong account management and customer retention background is preferred
  • Experience selling industrial packaging products, including corrugated boxes, tape, stretch film, and strapping is preferred
  • Experience calling on procurement managers and purchasing professionals is preferred
  • Consultative sales approach with strong relationship-building skills is preferred
  • Experience managing pricing, margins, and contract negotiations is preferred
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote field-sales environment is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple customer accounts simultaneously is preferred
  • Experience coordinating with various teams, including purchasing and logistics, is preferred
  • Stable work history demonstrating long-term tenure is preferred
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset is preferred
  • Existing relationships within the North Carolina manufacturing or industrial market are preferred
