Job Description
- Advise clients on the design, operation, and compliance of tax-qualified retirement plans.
- Counsel clients on ERISA, Internal Revenue Code requirements, SECURE 2.0, and evolving legislative and regulatory developments.
- Draft and update retirement plan documents, amendments, summary plan descriptions, and participant communications.
- Conduct legal research and provide practical legal analysis for complex retirement plan matters.
- Partner directly with clients to identify legal risks and develop effective compliance strategies.
- Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice areas to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
- Stay current on retirement plan legislation and regulatory guidance affecting clients.
- Manage multiple sophisticated matters while delivering exceptional client service.
Qualifications
- Active Bar license in any U.S. state.
- 3+ years of legal experience with tax-qualified retirement plans.
- Strong knowledge of ERISA and Internal Revenue Code requirements.
- Experience with 401(k), profit-sharing, defined benefit, and/or cash balance plans.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, drafting, and writing skills.
- Strong communication and client relationship abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative legal environment.
