Position Overview

The Retention Marketing Specialist will support the execution and growth of AMS's customer retention strategy through direct response efforts including email and direct mail in addition to various retention-focused initiatives. This role will be responsible for executing email campaigns, leading retention-focused projects, coordinating cross-functional efforts, and helping bring customer engagement initiatives to life.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable managing campaign execution and independently driving projects from concept through completion. This position requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who can balance day-to-day campaign responsibilities with project ownership while collaborating effectively across multiple teams.

This role reports to the Senior Digital Marketing Manager and works closely with other members of Marketing, Creative, Merchandising, and other cross-functional teams.

Essential Functions, Duties & AccountabilitiesRetention Project Management
  • Lead assigned retention marketing projects from planning through completion, coordinating timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional activities across Marketing, Merchandising, Brand & Creative, and other business partners.
  • Maintain project plans, documentation, meeting notes, and follow-up actions while proactively identifying roadblocks, communicating project status, and ensuring initiatives are completed on time.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve workflows and increase team efficiency.
Campaign Execution
  • Build, review, schedule, and deploy email marketing and direct mail campaigns in support of the retention marketing calendar.
  • Assist with campaign setup, audience selection, testing, quality assurance, and deployment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Develop expertise in retention marketing platforms, processes, and best practices to ensure campaigns are executed successfully and on schedule.
Audience Segmentation & Targeting
  • Support the development and execution of customer segmentation strategies by assisting with audience selection, targeting, and campaign setup.
  • Partner with CRM and analytics teams to ensure the appropriate customer audiences are reached and contribute ideas that improve customer engagement, retention, and overall campaign effectiveness.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Merchandising, Brand & Creative, and other cross-functional teams to align campaign assets, creative vision, approvals, and timelines.
  • Support clear communication across departments to ensure retention marketing initiatives are executed efficiently and deliver a consistent customer experience.
Additional Functions, Duties & Accountabilities
  • Serve as a member of the Marketing Team and support others as necessary.
  • Maintain flexibility in work schedule to meet business needs, including an in-office and from home hybrid work environment.
  • Actively and positively contribute to the overall success of the company and team through regular contributions to the general management of the company.
  • Support the company and other departments wherever and whenever your skills and experience would be beneficial.

  • Ensure confidentiality and full and complete safeguarding of the company's trade secrets and any of our customer lists and related records.
RequirementsEducational Requirements
  • 4-year college degree in a Marketing, Business, Mathematics, Communications, or related field preferred.
Experience and Skills
  • One to three years experience in direct response marketing or a similar role. Strong project management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in marketing software and tools, such as CRM platforms and analytics tools.
  • The ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in Monday.com and Listrak is a plus.
