Job description

About the Role
We're an email and retention marketing agency working with some of the fastest-growing DTC, CPG, and subscription brands in the US and UK. Our clients are doing real volume, and they hire us because their email channel needs to be a serious revenue engine, not a side project.
We're looking for a Retention Marketing Manager who has already run email strategy at this level, either inside an email/retention agency on enterprise accounts, or in-house at an 8- or 9-figure brand. You'll own client relationships end-to-end: setting strategy, leading the roadmap, briefing copy and design, presenting performance, and driving the numbers that keep clients renewing and growing.
This is not a "build the flow yourself in Klaviyo" role. We have copywriters, designers, and Klaviyo specialists. You are the strategist and the client's trusted advisor.
What You'll Own
  • Strategy and roadmap for 4 to 6 retainer clients: lifecycle architecture, campaign calendars, segmentation strategy, A/B testing roadmaps, retention KPIs.
  • Client relationships. Weekly calls, monthly business reviews, quarterly strategy sessions. You're the face of the agency to the brand.
  • Performance. Owning email-attributed revenue %, list growth, deliverability, repeat purchase rate, LTV. You read the numbers, diagnose what's working, and direct the team accordingly.
  • Team leadership. Briefing and reviewing the work of copywriters, designers, and Klaviyo specialists assigned to your accounts. Ensuring strategy ships on time and on quality.
  • Account growth and retention. Spotting upsell opportunities (SMS, paid integration, new flows), preventing churn, and turning happy clients into case studies and referrals.

Requirements
What You Need (Non-Negotiable)
  • 5+ years in email/retention marketing, with at least 2 years in a senior strategy or account lead role.
  • You've owned the email channel for 8- or 9-figure DTC/CPG/subscription brands, either as the lead strategist at an email marketing agency, or in-house running the program. Generic "digital marketing" experience won't cut it here.
  • Deep Klaviyo expertise. Flows, segmentation, deliverability, reporting. You don't need to build flows yourself, but you need to know what good looks like and direct the work.
  • Subscription experience with Recharge, SKIO, Stay AI, or Shopify Subscriptions. You understand churn, save flows, payback windows, and subscriber LTV.
  • Excellent written and spoken English. You'll be on Zoom with founders and CMOs every week.
  • Based in the US or Canada, with reliable home office setup and overlap with EST business hours.
