Retail Store Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: Profitably lead and manage a retail store location, including sales, merchandising, inventory, facility image, personnel, and planning.

Reports to: Retail District Manager

Supervises: Assistant Store Manager, Department Managers, Grooming Department


Responsibilities
  • Manage store personnel, including staff selection, training, mentoring, coaching, and evaluating employees.
  • Oversee location sales and customer service using established retail customer service standards.
  • Facilitate store location inventory productivity.
  • Manage and maintain store facility and location equipment using established retail image standards.
  • Direct location merchandise management, including receiving, merchandising, and selling of product, utilizing procedures established by retail administration.
  • Manage daily store sales, bookkeeping responsibilities, and local expense approval, as well as monitor and act on daily reports, inventory, and other computer or manual practices.
  • Participate as a member of the retail management team.
  • Plan and execute annual operating budgets for the store location, including sales and margin projections and expense control.
  • Lead and participate in regular and special meetings.
  • Participate in special project work when requested.
Special Skills/Training
  • Knowledge of management, supervision practices, principles, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of the industry and support of Wilco's core values.
  • Skill to operate computer systems and automated office machines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to customers and staff.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers and co-workers.
Experience/Education
  • 5 years of retail experience.
  • 2 years of retail management experience.
  • College degree or equivalent experience.
