Summary
The Silver Stem Fine Cannabis (SSFC) Retail Store Manager is responsible for leading daily retail operations while representing the Silver Stem brand and delivering an exceptional customer experience. The Store Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance, operational excellence, team development, and overall store performance.
This role provides leadership and direction to the retail team, including Lead Budtenders, Budtenders, Inventory Control Associates, and other store staff. The Store Manager ensures consistent execution of company policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and operational standards while maintaining clear communication with store teams and corporate leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Retail Operations & Leadership
- Oversee daily store operations and ensure the store is running efficiently and effectively.
- Lead, coach, and develop retail employees through training, feedback, and performance management.
- Delegate responsibilities based on team strengths and business needs.
- Maintain a positive, professional, and compliant workplace environment.
- Ensure exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, SOPs, and employee handbook expectations.
- Conduct regular manager meetings, team meetings, and employee check-ins.
Cash Management
Opening Procedures
- Prepare registers for daily operations, including ensuring adequate cash/change supplies.
- Verify opening procedures are completed accurately and on time.
Daily Cash Operations
- Manage cash flow and perform change runs as needed.
- Ensure accurate cash handling procedures are followed.
Closing Procedures
- Balance all registers and verify transaction accuracy.
- Balance petty cash and change drawers.
- Complete required cash logs and reporting.
- Balance and secure the store safe.
Inventory & Compliance Management
- Oversee all inventory procedures and ensure compliance with Oregon cannabis regulations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through Flowhub and METRC.
- Complete inventory reconciliation and investigate discrepancies.
- Ensure all cannabis products, accessories, and deliveries are received accurately.
- Review and approve inventory adjustments and conversions.
- Maintain accurate product information, vendor information, and product records.
- Ensure compliance with OLCC regulations, company policies, and audit requirements.
Systems & Reporting
- Maintain proficiency in Flowhub, METRC, payroll systems, and other company platforms.
- Ensure authorized users and system access are properly maintained.
- Complete required reporting, logs, and documentation accurately.
- Maintain compliance documentation and store records.
Medical Customer Compliance
- Ensure medical customer documentation and required records are maintained according to Oregon regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect customer information in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.
Store Standards & Compliance
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly operational checklists are completed.
- Maintain compliance binders and required documentation.
- Complete incident reporting and follow proper escalation procedures.
- Ensure all products are properly secured and stored.
- Ensure opening and closing procedures are followed consistently.
Employee Management
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and development of retail employees.
- Manage employee schedules and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Monitor attendance, performance, and compliance with company expectations.
- Provide coaching and corrective feedback when needed.
- Submit payroll information accurately and on time.
Additional Responsibilities
- Facilitate vendor trainings and product education sessions.
- Participate in manager calls and operational meetings.
- Support company initiatives and special projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- College degree preferred.
Required Training & Compliance Knowledge
- Must maintain current knowledge of Oregon cannabis laws and regulations, including OLCC requirements.
- Must maintain compliance with METRC Oregon requirements and company SOPs.
- Must maintain knowledge of applicable workplace policies, confidentiality requirements, and safety standards.
- Must obtain and maintain all required cannabis worker credentials/badges before beginning employment.
Required Skills & Experience
- Previous retail management experience required.
- Cannabis retail management experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working in an Oregon-licensed cannabis facility preferred.
- Experience with cannabis compliance, inventory management, and regulatory audits preferred.
- Experience with Flowhub, METRC, payroll systems, and retail technology platforms preferred.
- Strong computer, mathematical, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and motivate a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Bilingual skills a plus.
- Positive attitude, accountability, and ability to work independently.

Physical and Work Requirements
- Must be able to work in a retail environment with moderate to loud noise levels and changing conditions.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
