Job Title

VP, Product Management, Retail

The VP of Product Management for the Retail vertical is responsible for defining and executing the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Clover's Retail Vertical serving several hundred thousand SMBs across the world. This leader will own the Retail product portfolio, delivering innovative point-of-sale, commerce, payments, inventory, customer engagement, omni-channel, and operational capabilities that enable SMB and Mid-Market retailers to grow their businesses.

This leader will work across Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Risk, Customer Success, and external technology partners to deliver differentiated commerce solutions that drive customer growth, merchant retention, and revenue expansion. The ideal candidate combines deep retail technology expertise, exceptional product leadership, commercial acumen, and experience scaling SaaS and payments platforms.


What You Will Do:

Product Strategy, Product Development, and Portfolio Leadership

  • Define the long-term product strategy and multi-year roadmap for the Retail business.

  • Own the Retail product portfolio, including POS software, hardware, payments, inventory management, employee management, omni-channel commerce, customer loyalty, and reporting.

  • Lead end-to-end product management from concept through launch and continuous optimization.

  • Partner with Engineering and Design to deliver modern, cloud-based, AI-enabled retail solutions.

  • Drive customer-centric product development through data, market insights, and merchant feedback.

  • Balance innovation with operational excellence and platform scalability.

  • Ensure seamless integration across the Merchant Solutions ecosystem.

Commerce Innovation

  • Develop differentiated omni-channel commerce capabilities.

  • Expand embedded financial services within retail workflows.

  • Build AI-powered solutions that improve inventory forecasting, merchandising, employee productivity, pricing optimization, and customer engagement.

  • Drive integrations with ERP, accounting, ecommerce, marketplaces, and third-party applications.

Commercial Leadership

  • Own Retail product business performance, including revenue growth, customer adoption, retention, and profitability in partnership with the Commercial Organization.

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing on commercialization strategies including pricing, packaging, and go-to-market.

  • Monitor market trends and competitive positioning.

Leadership

  • Lead and develop high-performing Product Managers.

  • Create a culture of innovation, accountability, customer obsession, and execution.

  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, Operations, and Support.

What You Need to Have:

  • 12+ years in Product Management.

  • Experience building retail commerce or POS platforms.

  • Deep knowledge of retail operations, payments, inventory management, omni-channel commerce, and SaaS.

  • Demonstrated ownership of large product portfolios and P&L responsibility.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in complex matrix organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with other SMB commerce platforms.

  • Knowledge of embedded finance and AI-powered commerce.

  • Experience managing international product portfolios.

Salary Range

$220,000.00 - $330,000.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in Sunnyvale, California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
