Job description

BuildOps is a modern, AI-native operational platform built specifically for commercial contractors. We connect field operations, projects, and back-office functions to create a single source of truth for the business, with deep integrations into customers’ accounting systems.

Role Overview

BuildOps is hiring an experienced Implementation Project Manager to own end-to-end delivery of our most complex customer implementations. You will own the plan, the timeline, the communication, and the outcome. Your job is to ensure every internal resource (e.g., Implementation Manager, Solutions Architect, Data Analyst) is engaged at the right time and that every stakeholder knows what's happening and what comes next. Your success is measured by on-time go-lives, customer satisfaction, and how rarely your projects escalate.

What You'll Do

Project Leadership

  • Own the full implementation lifecycle from kickoff through go-live and handoff to Customer Success
  • Define scope, milestones, success criteria, and governance with the customer and BuildOps leadership
  • Maintain project timelines and dependencies in Salesforce
  • Manage scope changes via formal change control and communicate updates proactively

Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer executives and project sponsors throughout implementation
  • Facilitate recurring project meetings; distribute agendas, minutes, and action items within 24 hours
  • Publish weekly status reports externally and submit semi-weekly early-risk surveys internally
  • Produce gate check documentation at key milestones to capture decisions and sign-offs.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Surface risks early and build mitigation plans in Salesforce before issues become blockers
  • Maintain an active risk log with owners and follow-up paths; review with leadership regularly
  • Conduct post-project retrospectives and apply lessons to future engagements.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate across Sales (handoff clarity), Implementation Managers (execution alignment), Data Analysts (import milestones), Solutions Architects (configuration dependencies), Product/Engineering (blocker escalation), and Customer Success (go-live transition)
  • Deliver complete handoff documentation to Customer Success or Support at project close

Process Improvement

  • Identify gaps in implementation playbooks and propose improvements with supporting rationale
  • Contribute to internal templates and retrospectives

What We Look For

  • 5+ years of project management experience delivering enterprise SaaS implementations across multi-stakeholder, multi-workstream engagements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage 4-12 concurrent active projects without losing rigor.
  • Comfortable owning executive-level customer relationships at the VP or C-level.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM; formal PM methodology background (PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong written communication: your status updates, risk logs, and gate check docs are read once and acted on.
  • Bias toward proactive escalation. You surface issues when there is still time to fix them.
  • Construction, field service, or B2B vertical SaaS experience preferred.

What we offer:

  • Generous equity grant, become an owner in our company!
  • A comprehensive benefits package
  • Flexible PTO and hybrid work schedules
  • One-time work-from-home allowance
  • Hubs in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, and Raleigh with hybrid work schedules and lunch provided for in-office days
  • Company events and team-building activities, both in-person and virtual
  • Fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic work environment
  • Opportunities for growth and career advancement
  • Chance to work with cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions
  • The chance to get in on the ground floor and build something truly groundbreaking for ourselves and our amazing customers

We welcome applicants from across the U.S. where we are registered to do business and able to support employment. Currently, this excludes the following states: Alaska, Hawaii, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming. This list is based solely on operational and compliance considerations and is reviewed from time to time as our footprint grows.
