Job description

The Retail Store Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the venue’s retail store, including staff leadership, sales performance, inventory management, merchandising, reporting, opening and closing procedures, and maintaining a safe and exceptional guest experience.

The Retail Store Manager is responsible for maximizing retail revenue by achieving sales goals, maintaining strong operational and merchandising standards, effectively managing inventory and expenses, and developing a knowledgeable and guest-focused retail team.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive customer service excellence across all aspects of the retail operation, including store appearance, merchandise displays, product placement, store layout, and selling procedures.
  • Ensure store sales goals and performance targets are met by maximizing sales and gross profit, reviewing sales performance, controlling expenses, and effectively managing inventory.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving guest concerns and retail-related service issues in a positive and professional manner to create an exceptional guest experience.
  • Hire, train, develop, supervise, and support retail staff.
  • Provide staff with ongoing feedback, coaching, training opportunities, and performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate daily staffing levels and employee schedules while balancing operational needs, labor costs, and efficiency.
  • Ensure the retail operation complies with company safety policies and procedures and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Recommend merchandising changes, markdowns, promotions, product placement strategies, and other opportunities to increase sales and maximize revenue.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities necessary to support efficient store operations, including the timely submission of personnel documentation, sales reports, and other required records.
  • Monitor sales receipts, cash-handling procedures, and cash discrepancies and conduct follow-up as necessary to identify errors, training opportunities, and corrective actions.
  • Oversee inventory management and ensure established inventory procedures are consistently followed.
  • Conduct and oversee regular inventory counts to ensure merchandise and stock records remain accurate.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify when merchandise and operating supplies need to be replenished.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels based on sales trends, anticipated attendance, events, and business needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and visually appealing retail environment.
  • Collaborate with Venue Management and other departments to support venue operations, special events, promotions, and guest experience initiatives.
  • Prepare and submit required sales, inventory, staffing, and operational reports as assigned.
  • Maintain flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five years of retail experience preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, coaching, training, and developing employees.
  • Strong understanding of retail sales, merchandising, inventory management, cash handling, and customer service.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities and organize workload to maintain productivity and meet operational deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate sales, inventory, and operational records.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with Lightspeed POS or a similar point-of-sale system is considered an asset.
  • Strong team orientation with a professional, enthusiastic, reliable, and solutions-focused approach.
  • Flexibility to work daytime, afternoon, and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays (based on a 40-hour workweek).


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform physical activities associated with retail operations, including stocking merchandise, receiving deliveries, moving inventory, and maintaining merchandise displays.

  • Annual salary of $55,000.
