Responsible for counseling consumer and commercial customers on banking depository needs. Conducts business development calls for commercial clients and prospects, primarily focusing on depository needs and referral to other lines of business. Assist existing customers and prospects with consumer lending needs. Promotes the Retail line of business partners of Ameris Bank and refers customers to other departments. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.


Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
Engages with the branch in business development and customer relations activities within the market area; calls on existing and prospective customers to explain the bank's services and offers assistance with bank-related problems.
Interviews loan applicants and collects and analyzes financial and related data to determine the general credit worthiness of the loan applicant and the merits of the specific loan requests. Reviews with Branch Manager or Regional Manager as designated on those loan requests exceeding assigned lending authority for approval/denial of requests. Approves or declines loans within specified limits and conducts loan closings.
Assist the Branch Manager and/or Regional Manager in their role as the sales manager of the branch and/or region. Including but not limited to reviewing sales activities of the branch and/or region and conducting sales meetings.
Demonstrates effective sales strategies to attract, expand, and retain customer relationships and guides team to achieve sales objectives through action planning.
Represents the Bank in business development efforts and at networking and community functions.
Responsible for making outbound calls and external appointments to grow deposit portfolio.
Sells customers on benefits of banking with Ameris Bank and using additional services.
Provides referrals to the lines of business partners of Ameris Bank including but not limited to: Commercial Lending, Mortgage, Credit Cards, Merchant Services and Investment Services.
Demonstrates leadership skillset with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships.
Responsible for meeting established monthly sales goals.
Positively and proactively leads change management initiatives.
Researches, analyzes, identifies viable options, draw sound conclusions, present findings, and make thoughtful recommendations considering overall risk and the short-term and long-term impact.
Provides a high level of interactive service to others, building relationships, and addressing identified needs.
Works to understand the root causes of customer service issues.
Practices ethical sales behaviors in accordance with Ameris' core values of Integrity and Honesty; always acts in the best interest of the customer when offering additional products and services.
