Who You'll Work With:
We are seeking a San Antonio based Partner Distribution Services Back Office Operations Associate to join our Partner Distribution Services Team in Global Technology & Operations.
The Partner Distribution Services Team specializes in the support of AB Sales, Strategic Relationships, Legal, Product and the back offices of our retail, retirement, and insurance intermediaries. The members of this team field inquiries from internal and external clients and work on tasks, projects, issues, and as needed. The team also supports trading and reporting for the National Securities Clearing Corporation.
What You'll Do:
The PDS Back Office Operations Associate is responsible for managing the relationship between AB and Intermediary back offices to ensure daily operations, critical events and service matters are effectively coordinated. The person is expected to provide support to and develop relationships with intermediary back offices, AB Product, ABI Sales, various ABIS teams and other groups, as needed to facilitate communication and coordination of initiatives between AB and the firms. The person in this role must be highly organized and have outstanding communication and problem-solving skills.
This person will be responsible for providing service and support to our internal and external clients such as the back offices of intermediaries and wholesalers selling our domestic funds. This person will be responsible for other functions held within this team such as NSCC reject processing, special reporting, audit reviews, daily administrative reporting and any other tasks assigned. This person will use applications and websites such as TA2000, Dealer Services Workspace, DST Rumba, AWD, Chorus, StorQM, DTCC Profile Security, DTCC MFIX, NSCC, SharePoint, EXCEL, ACCESS and other applications that may be needed to perform daily responsibilities
Key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Respond to requests and inquiries from intermediary back offices, AB Product, ABI Sales, ABI SRG, and ABIS Operations
  • Become familiar with industry issues/trends affecting operations between intermediaries and AB
  • Participate in various AB initiatives as needed and coordinate with intermediaries
  • Support mutual fund back-office trading processes
  • Coordinate the processing of trades, corrections, and other account activities
  • Present information related to AB initiatives and funds to internal and external clients as needed
  • Maintain intermediary profile database
  • Perform tasks supporting Intermediary onboarding, termination, and intermediary oversight
  • Handle ad-hoc projects resulting from requests from our intermediaries or other internal AB groups. Examples of these requests include, but are not limited to broker conversions, omnibus conversions, complete RFPs, fund fact and "spec-pack" sheets, questionnaires, customized reporting and record-keeping for internal groups
  • Support monthly PDS management reporting and productivity reporting
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed, based on department requirements

The person in this role will have the opportunity to learn more about AB and the critical need to communicate and coordinate with Intermediaries distributing AB products. The work environment is diverse and fast-paced. The team members are encouraged to be independent and entrepreneurial. This person will also have an opportunity to further develop and demonstrate skills such as organization, time management, project planning, relationship management, problem solving, and communication. This role is considered a steppingstone for senior roles within PDS and other departments across the organization.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment is a supporting role for a vendor, client or firm
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel. Access knowledge is a plus but not required.
  • Previous mutual fund operations experience a plus, but not required
  • A strong level of knowledge regarding mutual fund operations and understanding of ETF and Alternative products is a plus but not required.
  • Business or Finance degree is helpful for this role, but not required
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills with a proven ability to work independently and follow up to ensure tasks and other deliverables are completed
