Job description

Assistant Ace Hardware Store Manager assists with all aspects of the store's operations including financial results.
They will help plan, organize, direct, and control all store activities plus make effective and objective decisions regarding operational choices in work procedures, inventory allocations, ordering, scheduling, and other situations as deemed necessary.
The Assistant Hardware Store Manager must observe and enforce all store rules and company polices.
They emphasize and model company customer service standards and maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance, observing company dress code.
They must also prepare store projections, store operating budgets, employee schedules, and control labor and other overhead costs.
It is the Assistant Hardware Store Manager's responsibility to have a working knowledge of all major departments, including store accounting.
They will be required to comply with Federal, State, and local laws/regulations including but not limited to OSHA, Department of Labor Standards, Wage & Hour, Age Restrictions, Sanitation and Food Safety, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Requirements/Responsibilities

Duties:
*Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and assisting with product selection.
*Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties.
*Demonstrate products to customers, showcasing features and benefits to enhance their shopping experience.
*Engage in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining customer satisfaction.
*Maintain merchandising standards by organizing displays, stocking shelves, and ensuring product availability.
*Assist with unloading incoming trucks and put away merchandise.
*Uphold store cleanliness and organization to create an inviting atmosphere for shoppers.
Requirements:
*Previous experience in retail management and customer service is essential; hardware store experience is a plus.
*Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers.
*Basic math skills for handling transactions and performing retail math calculations.
*Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
