A Host at Vandelay Hospitality Group is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests. As a Host, you will ensure each guest begins their experience with a positive and warm welcome and are able to seat guests according to availability. You are familiar with our reservations system and manage the flow of service by monitoring all private bookings, events, and walk-in guests. Hosts answer the phone with a smile and ensure that the guest feels well taken care when calling the restaurant, answering the phone within 3 rings.
Responsibilities:

  • Provide concierge level service to guests by making guests feel welcome, and comfortable while waiting for seating
  • Develop and maintain relationships with guests on a name-to-name basis
  • Review reservation books in RESY to strategize the most effective plan for seating and planning
  • Review guest profile notes, photos and special requests in detail to prepare for every service
  • Maintain RESY database by adding detailed notes during and after service, or by altering reservations for private booking and events
           Knowledge of menu items, tables and seat numbers
  • Strong communication and listening skills to effectively deliver professional and accurate messaging to both guests and teammates
  • Execute opening, mid-shift, closing and side work procedures associated with assigned station
Requirements:

  • Experience working as a Host in fine dining and/or hotel environment
  • Detail oriented with writing, communication and phone etiquette skills
  • Team oriented with a strong sense of punctuality, reliability and professionalism
  • RESY Reservation system and CRM experience a plus
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency, strong work ethic, ability to mentally prioritize and stay organized in a high-volume atmosphere
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Must be comfortable with repetitive motions (such as walking, bending, and standing), able to safely lift up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time
