Job description

Confidential Opportunity – Electrical Engineer (Building Systems Design) | Hybrid Role

A highly ranked national MEP consulting engineering firm is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join its growing team. This is a confidential opportunity for a motivated professional who is passionate about electrical building systems design and looking to grow within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The firm is recognized for delivering innovative engineering solutions across a wide range of building types including commercial office, hospitality, retail and restaurant, healthcare, industrial, and multi-family developments. With a strong project pipeline and a people-focused culture, this organization offers both technical challenge and long-term career growth.

This role offers a hybrid work schedule with flexibility to work from home up to 2–3 days per week after an initial onboarding period.


Key Responsibilities:
• Design electrical systems for new construction and renovation projects across multiple sectors
• Develop lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, and emergency/standby power systems
• Prepare design documents including drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications
• Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, and plumbing disciplines
• Perform design calculations and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
• Support construction administration including submittal review, RFIs, site visits, and field reporting
• Collaborate with project teams, clients, contractors, and code officials throughout all project phases
• Contribute to project delivery in a fast-paced, multi-project environment


Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering for building design projects
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• EIT or PE license preferred
• Strong understanding of electrical building systems design
• Experience with lighting and power system design for new construction and renovations
• Familiarity with industry tools such as COMcheck, REScheck, FlaCom, Visual, AGi32, and SKM Power Tools
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit preferred
• Strong communication and coordination skills with ability to work across disciplines
• Knowledge of basic mechanical and plumbing systems to support integrated design discussions
