PSE's Resource Planning Analytics team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Associate Load Forecasting Analyst position!

Job Description

PSE's Load Forecasting team is highly-collaborative and passionate about using advanced analytics, data science,and diverse data sources to forecast how PSE's customers will use electricity and natural gas in the future astechnology and energy policies are changing rapidly. Energy load forecasts provide the foundation for long-termfinancial planning, responsible energy supply and resource planning, and reliable infrastructure system planning.This is an excellent opportunity to play an integral role within PSE to help us better serve the environment, ourcustomers and the communities in which they live.

The ideal candidate for this position has a background in economics and/or forecast modeling who is intellectuallycurious and thrives in a dynamic environment to develop intelligence about energy usage trends, hasdemonstrated strong quantitative skills and enthusiasm for data, programming, and analysis. The ideal candidatewill also have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and interest and/or experience presentinginsights using data visualization techniques as well as excellent interpersonal skills to help maintain a supportive,productive team environment.

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and/or field procedures related to workresponsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Demonstrates commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically and consistent with our core values and Codeof Conduct. Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations.
 

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist senior staff in the development and running of econometric and statistical forecasting models andanalytical frameworks.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of input and output databases necessary to perform long-termload forecasting analyses.
  • Extract data from various internal and external systems.
  • Develop code to conduct exploratory analysis, cleanse/massage, or aggregate data, and to automate workprocesses at the direction of senior staff.
  • Create data visualizations to derive meaningful insights.
  • Regularly run reports of forecast versus actuals and to track other intelligence.
  • Support development of written documents and presentations to help effectively communicate results ofresearch and analyses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Math, or related field.
  • Ability to perform complex mathematical analysis.
  • Solid written, interpersonal, and group communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a supportive team member.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master's/PhD degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, data science or similar fields.
  • Experience in economic or energy-related forecasting, data science, energy efficiency evaluation or relatedfield.
  • Knowledge of forecasting and econometric theory and applications.
  • Experience with statistical analyses and econometric modeling.
  • Demonstrated creative problem solving abilities.
  • Experience with databases and using database applications to support research and analytics.
  • Knowledge of energy forecasting tools such as Itron MetrixND/LT and Forecast Manager, LoadSEER, andEViews.
  • Experience with SAS, SQL, R, Python or other data analytic programming tools.
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboard reporting software such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience with SAP BW, SAP HANA, PI.
  • Superior Excel spreadsheet skills including development of charts, and familiarity with the other Microsoftapplications such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.

The pay range for this position is $80,200.00 - $115,800.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
