We are seeking a detail-oriented Energy Analyst to support client engagements focused on energy data analytics, invoice auditing, and operational insights. This role combines large-scale utility data management with detailed bill validation to ensure accuracy, identify cost drivers, and improve visibility into energy spend.

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Energy Analyst to support client engagements focused on energy data analytics, invoice auditing, and operational insights. This role combines large-scale utility data management with detailed bill validation to ensure accuracy, identify cost drivers, and improve visibility into energy spend.

Utility Data Management & Analysis
  • Collect, validate, and maintain utility data across client accounts
  • Track usage and cost trends across portfolios
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of datasets
Invoice Auditing & Bill Validation
  • Audit utility invoices for accuracy across rates, usage, and charges
  • Identify discrepancies, errors, and billing anomalies
  • Validate billing data against historical patterns
  • Support tracking and resolution of invoice issues
Consumption & Cost Analysis
  • Analyze consumption and cost drivers across client portfolios
  • Perform variance analysis across sites and billing periods
  • Identify anomalies and unusual usage patterns
  • Research utility rates to evaluate feasibility to switch tariffs
Reporting & Visualization
  • Develop standard and ad hoc reports and dashboards
  • Prepare clear client-facing insights and summaries
  • Present analytical findings in a structured format
Financial & Operational Analysis
  • Perform cost tracking and variance analysis
  • Support budgeting using historical data trends
  • Validate accruals and align financial datasets
Process Improvement & Collaboration
  • Improve auditing workflows and reporting processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Support automation and efficiency initiatives
Desired Background:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in relevant field
  • 0โ€“5 years of experience working in a regular professional business setting
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PowerBI), and ability to perform data analysis in Microsoft Excel
Preferred Skills:
  • Utility billing or invoice auditing experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Familiarity with either the North American energy power or natural gas markets, or both
