Description

At Camp Margaritaville Resort, we blend laid-back island vibes with exceptional hospitality to create unforgettable experiences for every guest. From family-friendly activities to signature Margaritaville celebrations, we deliver fun, escape, and adventure in every moment. 


As our Resort Maintenance Technician, you will perform routine and preventative maintenance to maintain the physical integrity of our Resorts while providing excellent customer service to our guests.

This position may require flexible scheduling availability.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Complete minor repairs to rental homes and facilities as needed
  • Complete routine maintenance and minor emergency electrical repairs, plumbing, sewage, construction, and street repair
  • Inspect the irrigation system regularly to ensure it is working properly and repair as necessary
  • Inspect playground area and equipment, pool/spa area, and other recreational amenities to ensure everything is in good condition and make minor repairs as needed
  • Ensure the resort is presentable and inviting at all times and that it adheres to Island's curb appeal standards
  • Regularly treat for weeds, weed whips, rake leaves, plant flowers/shrubs, spreads mulch/woodchips/stones, trim shrubs and hedges, cut down and remove tree limbs damaged by adverse
  • weather conditions, and perform other lawn care services as necessary
  • Ensure trash/debris is picked up daily from common areas and streets on a daily basis
  • Empty common area trash containers as needed
  • Clean resort amenities which may include clubhouses, tennis courts, pickleball courts, resort offices, restrooms, laundry areas, bath houses, and maintenance garage
  • Maintain vacant sites, including strap-downs and removal of trash and debris
  • Remove snow from community streets, parking lots, building entrances, and other areas Island is responsible for maintaining, where applicable. (May include using a truck with a plow, spreading
  • salt, snow blowing, and/or shoveling.)
  • Complete checklists of the physical condition of resort sites prior to and after guest occupancy
  • Assist Resort Manager with the supervision of service contractors
  • Report all maintenance issues and concerns that may be identified while performing daily duties to the manager
  • Ensure all resort streets and public access routes are free of hazards
  • Maintain resort pool(s), tests chemical levels, and adjust appropriately, where applicable
  • Maintain resort vehicles and equipment
  • Follow safety procedures while performing duties, including safely operating vehicles when moving from site to site and picking up supplies

Job Qualifications:

  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and the internet
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to provide legible written reports
  • Proficient skills in operating various hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery
  • General knowledge of janitorial work, plumbing, electrical, and grounds maintenance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and broad experience in general maintenance techniques and repair work
  • Ability to respond to resort needs during non-business hours while on-call
  • 6 months previous maintenance experience in a campground or RV resort is preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
