The incumbent assumes overall responsibilities for the resortโ€™s finance and accounting functions, closely partnering with key employees of the property (and organization) to ensure profit growth. The role is collaborative and one providing support to various operational teams in guest service efforts and/or problem-solving.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Position oversees the development/monitoring of the annual operating and capital budgets for the resort, as well as the monthly forecast
  • Prepares the resortโ€™s financial statements and coordinates with outside auditors to file necessary state/federal forms
  • Monitor expenses including AP and payroll for adherence to budget & forecast; recommend adjustments when necessary.
  • Supports, from a financial perspective, General Manager in initiating, implementing and executing property goals.
  • Directs/coordinates insurance programs to cover known risks to the organization (GL, W/C, ELI)
  • Attracts and retains the best possible employees, and provides for their on-going development โ€ข Assists in preparing all financial materials for review by the Company CFO, CEO and/or the Board
  • Maintains efficient organization of the Finance/Accounting Teams, streamlining operation and eliminating redundancies
  • Position must liaison with various departments to ensure the delivery of the utmost in guest service and revenue generation.
  • The position adheres to all property/company policies & procedures, ensuring others do the same
  • Ensures and support all departments in terms of coverage, scheduling, service, as deemed necessary
  • Other duties may be assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Analytical, problem-solving skills must be strengths
  • Proven ability to lead hospitality/resort accounting and/or finance teams
  • Demonstrated flexibility and team-orientation in project work
  • Ability to understand guest needs/demands, and exceed them
  • Ability to encourage/ensure collaboration amongst managers/departments
  • Strong listener and communicator
  • Ability to set expectations and hold others accountable (while team-building empathetically)
  • Multi-tasking skills, and ability to share focus on many tasks/initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to stand, and, walk, 4 to 5 hours at a time, climb stairs, reach, bend, taste, see, hear, smell and feel or touch.
  • Must be willing to step into any task/assignment to ensure the job gets done
  • The position may require the ability to lift over 20 pounds occasionally. Education & Experience
  • BA Degree in accounting, finance or hospitality highly desired
  • Familiarity with Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry and GAAP preferred
  • Two (2) or more years of hospitality managing a finance or accounting department/division
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Experience evaluating system/labor efficiency gaps
  • Management/leadership experience at a full-service resort required
