Job description

Summary of Position:
The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for the daily income journal, daily cash audit, general bookkeeping and account reconciliation functions.
Essential Functions :
  • Assemble Revenue Reports from Toast (POS) and Opera (PMS) software.
  • Review daily financial transactions and ensure items are recorded correctly.
  • Ensure credit card batches are processed daily and balanced with bank accounts.
  • Upload revenue reports to the resort accounting system for the Daily Sales Report.
  • Assist with gratuity reconciliations for Restaurants, Ballroom, Fitness and Spa, related to revenue and convention grats.
  • Reconcile clearing accounts, house accounts and other general ledger accounts as required.
  • Process the daily cash deposits and reconcile to daily sales reports.
  • Assist with other daily and monthly accounting functions as required and requested.

Q ualifications:
Education: High School Diploma Required.
Experience: Previous accounting experience required and hospitality experience preferred. Must have general knowledge of Windows environment. Moderate knowledge of Excel is necessary.
Certificates or Licenses: No special licenses required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with vendors and fellow employees
  • Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read English and perform simple math.
  • Data entry speed and accuracy is extremely important.
