Job description

Job Title: Warehouse Associate
Location: Portsmouth, VA 23704
Job Type: 6+ Months of Contract with possible extension
Shift: 10 AM - 6.30 PM Monday - Friday
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Operation of forklifts, packaging and labeling of customer orders, and utilization of computer systems to process receipts, putaways, picks, and replenishments.
  • Inspect incoming product and verify against shipping manifest for accuracy
  • Elevate inventory discrepancies to inventory control or management for resolution.
  • Effectively work with QA organizations to disposition incoming product.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • bility to perform basic math, read, understand, and make decisions based on written operating procedures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • bility to read product labels and picking sheets.
  • Forklift certification, or ability to become certified (company provided).
  • bility to communicate discrepancies to warehouse supervisor.
  • Must be able to operate rolling pushcart, electric forklift and manual pallet jack

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
  • Frequently exposed to moving equipment such as forklifts and rolling carts.
  • Exposed to temperature controls in the warehouse.
  • Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions when loading doors are open.
  • May frequently work extended hours as required
