Job description

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.
Under minimal supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients ranging in age from ne competencies following established standards and practices. Supports the mission statement, policies and procedures of the Baptist Health System. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of nursing
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Completion of peri-anesthesia or critical care internship/training course
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse or currently eligible for state board certification.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
  • Surgery - CNOR Board eligible/certified
  • Post Anesthesia-CPAN Board eligible/certified
  • GI Lab SGNA Board eligible/certified

REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR):
  • BLS - required for all areas-Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training or the Military Training Network
  • ACLS required for all areas in Surgery Services and must obtain within 6 months of date of hire or transfer into unit
  • PALS- required for Post Anesthesia and must obtain within 6 months of date of hire or transfer into unit
