Qualifications

As a Director of Fleet Planning at SIXT, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping the long-term fleet strategy across North America. Reporting to the Head of Fleet Strategy & AI Systems, you will oversee the planning and optimization of fleet lifecycle performance across the U.S. and Canada, ensuring acquisition, utilization, and defleet decisions maximize total asset value and profitability.

This role is ideal for strategic leaders who thrive in highly analytical environments, are energized by transformation and innovation, and are excited to drive the evolution from manual fleet planning processes to predictive, AI-enabled decision-making.

YOUR ROLE AT SIXT

You lead and develop a national team of Regional Fleet Strategists across the U.S. and Canada, driving accountability, specialization, and strategic ownership across fleet planning operations
You build, maintain, and optimize long-range fleet plans by region, category, and model year, ensuring alignment between infleet and defleet strategies to maximize total lifecycle value
You partner closely with Fleet Economics, Revenue Management, Purchasing, and Remarketing teams to evaluate OEM programs, optimize hold periods, and support high-impact buy/no-buy decisions
You analyze fleet economics, residual value trends, utilization performance, and contribution margins to drive data-backed fleet composition strategies across all markets
You collaborate with Fleet Systems and Data Science teams to implement AI-enabled planning tools, predictive analytics, and workflow automation that improve forecasting and operational efficiency
You oversee strategic remarketing coordination, balancing sales velocity, residual value protection, and regional fleet demand to ensure alignment with long-term planning objectives

YOUR SKILLS MATTER

Education & Experience - You hold a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in strategy, finance, consulting, fleet economics, or asset-intensive operations; MBA or advanced degree preferred

Strategic & Analytical Thinking - You possess a strong quantitative foundation with experience in financial modeling, optimization logic, sensitivity analysis, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making

Leadership & Team Development - You have experience leading high-performing teams and developing talent in fast-paced, evolving environments while creating structure and accountability across complex operations

AI & Technology Mindset - You are highly comfortable with AI-enabled workflows, automation tools, and emerging technologies, understanding how intelligent systems can improve planning, forecasting, and operational decision-making

Communication & Cross-Functional Partnership - You communicate clearly and effectively with senior stakeholders and collaborate successfully across multiple business functions including Purchasing, Revenue Management, Remarketing, and Data Science

Industry Expertise - Experience in fleet management, vehicle lifecycle economics, residual value strategy, automotive, mobility, leasing, or rental industries is strongly preferred; exposure to SQL, Python, or advanced analytics tools is a plus
