Job description

The Leasing Manager oversees leasing operations for a residential apartment community or portfolio. This role is responsible for maximizing occupancy, driving lease renewals, leading the leasing team, and delivering an exceptional resident and prospect experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeasing & Occupancy
  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve and maintain target occupancy levels.
  • Monitor rental market trends, pricing, and competitor communities.
  • Manage leasing traffic, conversion ratios, and closing performance.
  • Oversee the entire leasing lifecycle: inquiry, tour, application, approval, move-in, and renewal.
  • Ensure vacant units are ready and available for showing.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Hire, train, and supervise leasing consultants and leasing staff.
  • Set leasing goals and monitor individual and team performance.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and ongoing training.
  • Create work schedules and ensure consistent office coverage.
Resident Retention & Experience
  • Lead lease renewal and resident retention programs.
  • Handle escalated resident concerns and resolve conflicts professionally.
  • Promote a positive community atmosphere and resident engagement events.
  • Maintain strong relationships with residents to improve satisfaction and retention.
Marketing & Outreach
