Job description

STATUS: Full time
JOB TITLE: Resident Services Rep
DEPARTMENT: PRLC Nursing Admin
LOCATION: Park Ridge Living Center - 1555 Long Pond Road
Rochester, NY 14626
SCHEDULE: M-F shifts varies depending on day/evening shift, weekend rotation requirement roughly every 3 weeks
SUMMARY
Provides general clerical support and organization to the unit's staff, through timely and well organized processes. Provides superior customer service by modeling the Brand promise and Core Values.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitors and intercedes as indicated with the residents via the call light system or personal contact to answer needs of the residents either directly or by referring them to the appropriate staff in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for organizational processes of the unit, including the following: telephone triage, verbal and written communication, appointments and resident transportation, organizational calendars for such things as lab work, supplies to be ordered, etc.
  • Assists Nurse Manager or her designee in interdepartmental communication such as obtaining test results, lab work results in a timely manner.
  • Monitors and sets physician schedules, consult appointments and other resident appointments. Maintains a log of when appointments are due. Notes and tracks physician orders.
  • Monthly charting. Maintains appropriate unit and resident medical records in compliance with Unity Health System and Regulatory requirements.
  • Oversees the clerical process of resident's admission, discharge, ensuing proper identification of residents room, personal belongings and medical records.
  • Responsible for filing and thinning of medical records as per protocol. Processing medical records to and from the Medical Record Department.
  • Acts as a Receptionist, provides telecommunication coverage, acts as information desk for the department, relaying messages, etc. Oversees smooth information flow, including mail, photo copying, faxing and other unit communication in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree and knowledge of medical terminology
  • One year of clerical experience, preferably in Health Care.
