Program Manager and Coordinator

  • Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland
  • Security Clearance: Active Clearance or Eligible to Obtain - U.S. citizenship required
  • Salary: $145,000 - $165,000 Depending on Experience and Education
  • Travel: 10%

Position Summary

SURVICE Engineering is currently seeking a Program Manager and Coordinator to support our Aberdeen Research Operation. You will accelerate your career and become an integral team member within the defense community.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain Community of Interest (COI) battle rhythm to include inputs to recurring weekly, monthly and annual technical tasks, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Support COI events such as annual Information Exchange, technical exchange meetings; tasks include supporting efforts to plan, monitor, and report progress; developing and maintaining integrated project schedules; conducting reviews to identify dependencies and risk and proposing mitigation strategies. Advises Materials Scientific Professional (ST) on courses of action and provides recommendations for decision. Support development of post-event documentation such as initial findings, official notes and actions.
  • Monitor and understand ARL technical program progress, Department of War priorities and capability gaps. Identify opportunities to and develop courses of action to inform technical program planning decision points.
  • Support Materials ST response to technical taskers issued from higher echelons; to include data collection, compilation, and response formalization
  • Assist Materials ST in developing and streamlining internal processes, to include identifying key milestones and decision points in the Army Research Laboratory, Army Combat Capabilities Development Command, and CoI to ensure deliverables are accurate and on time to inform decisions.
  • Incorporate and manage Knowledge Management (KM) tools such as SharePoint and MS Teams that provide for the synchronization, integration, and awareness of all topics above.

Minimum Qualifications of Program Manager and Coordinator 
Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Physics, Program Management, or Systems Engineering related field and 10+ years of relevant experience. Exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered. Candidates are not required to possess all qualifications; if you possess some of the desired qualifications, please apply.

  • Proven organizational skills, including time management
  • Ability to understand technically diverse and complex problem sets
  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Self-sufficiency: the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams and SharePoint.
  • Experience in developing, planning, and coordinating senior leaders (GO/SES level) across diverse
  • Program management skills to include: monitor day-to-day operations, while tracking and reporting on status and recommending actionable improvements as necessary
  • Communication and coordination across a diverse team
  • Experience in planning, managing, and executing basic and applied research programs/projects using machine learning (ML) supporting the design, development, assessment, and transition of innovative processing science and manufacturing technologies
  • Experience writing proposals, reports, technical program summaries, and presentations
  • Experience in supporting manufacturing technology development projects
  • Knowledge or experience in advanced manufacturing including additive manufacturing,
  • Knowledge or experience in aspects of materials (metals, ceramics, glasses, polymers, or composites) manufacturing, nondestructive inspection techniques, passive armor, and materials characterization.
