Job description

The Bartlett Tree Research Laboratory (Charlotte, NC) is hiring a Maintenance Technician for its Facilities & Maintenance team. This position entails working with a variety of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems situated within multiple buildings and across the 350-plus-acre property.

  • Assist with installation and repair of new and existing irrigation systems.
  • Replace light bulbs, switches, and basic electrical parts. 
  • Perform light plumbing and HVAC maintenance.
  • Assist with fencing, gates, and small equipment repairs. 
  • Support general upkeep and other assigned tasks. 

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to spend long hours working independently in a wide range of weather and temperature extremes, including some office work.
  • Capable of working independently.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and work in strenuous conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to effectively interact with guests and co-workers, along with peer professionals.
  • Ability to learn and capable of asking questions without hesitation.
