Job Description:
POSITION: EMS Professional Lab Assistant; Part-Time
LOCATION: Clarkesville, GA
DESCRIPTION: The Professional Lab Assistant works under the direct supervision of full-time faculty members and performs routine standardized laboratory work requiring close attention to details. They are also responsible for the preparation, basic maintenance, and operation of laboratory equipment and inventory. PLAs are expected to assist faculty with supervision of students assigned to laboratories and the acquisition of supplies. Major duties include:
- Assist full-time faculty members with classroom instruction, exams, record keeping, adherence to safety procedures, tracking attendance, and other miscellaneous tasks related to instruction
- Tutor or mentor students
- Perform lab research
- Clean labs, as needed
- Obtain materials needed for classes, including texts and other materials
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- AEMT currently working in the field or retired
- Two (2) years work experience within emergency services
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Paramedic
- EMS Instructor Licensing
- Fire Instructor Licensing
- Desire to obtain Instructor Licensing
