Job description

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate to work with Prof. Jamal Jalilian-Marian on theoretical high-energy nuclear physics with emphasis on QCD and EIC-related topics. The position is for one year, starting in the Fall of 2026 (start date is very flexible and can be much earlier). Applicants should submit a CV, a statement of research, a list of publications, and arrange for three recommendation letters to be emailed to Prof. Jalilian-Marian at jamal.jalilian-marian@baruch.cuny.edu. All application materials must be uploaded online on the RFCUNY site, otherwise they may not be considered. Review of applications will begin January 31, 2026 and continue until the position is filled.

  • Perform research in theoretical high energy nuclear physics

  • Organize and participate in meetings, seminars, workshops and conferences

  • Publish research results and conduct presentations at meetings and conferences

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. degree in theoretical nuclear or elementary particle physics

  • Prior research experience in high energy nuclear physics

  • Ability to prepare and deliver oral presentations, as well as write articles in scientific journals

  • Clear and concise verbal/written/presentation communication skills

  • Knowledge of perturbative QCD and small x physics

Pay Range:

$60,000 - $62,000
