Job Role: Development Process Engineer
Location: St. Paul, MN - 55117
Duration: 12 Months
Job Summary
Development Process Engineer role is focused on manufacturing process development, process validation, equipment qualification, yield improvement, cost reduction, and supporting FDA/QMS compliance in a medical device or related manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Run DOE studies to improve process yield and efficiency
- Conduct equipment qualifications and process validations
- Manage process development, improvement, cost-reduction, and NPI projects
- Improve product quality, labor efficiency, and throughput using Lean/DMAIC methods
- Coordinate design, procurement, build, and debugging of tooling, machinery, and test equipment
- Work cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Operations, and Finance
- Support QMS, EMS, FDA, OSHA, and regulatory compliance
- Mentor technicians, trainers, and operators
Key Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in medical devices
- Process validation, design control, DOE, and Lean manufacturing experience
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Excellent communication, organization, leadership, and attention to detail
- Preferred: Medical device experience, R&D interface, delivery systems, and Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
