Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Program for Medical Education Innovations and Research (PrMEIR) is dedicated to advancing medical education scholarship and instituting best practices for patient-centered, evidence-based medical education at NYU Langone Health. Our mission is to support the development of research and practice that strengthen the links between a physicians training and patient health and well-being. We are now seeking a Research Data Associate to join our team.
Working closely with various faculty, PrMEIRs Program Director, and Program Manager, you will support and guide the work of faculty engaged in innovative educational projects and the study and dissemination of those projects.
This position will work for a new HRSA-funded program to train primary care residents to effectively care for people experiencing homelessness (PEH) in New York City. Driven by a significant increase in urban homelessness and an ongoing opioid crisis, this initiative expands where residents deliver care and how they prioritize medical, behavioral, and social conditions. Trainees will focus deeply on the social determinants of health, chronic disease management, mental health, substance use issues, the impact of trauma, and the provision of culturally competent care to address the disproportionate burden of serious illness faced by PEH.
To facilitate this initiative, the full-time position will provide comprehensive support to expand clinical tracks across street, clinic, and hospital-based rotations. The position will work closely with residency training faculty and will manage daily logistics, coordinate complex clinical schedules, and arrange community site visits. They will also ensure clinical sites have appropriate staffing, precepting support, and physical space for each rotating resident.
Additionally, the associate will play a vital role in curriculum implementation and data management. Responsibilities include supporting faculty with learner assessments, distributing educational materials, and providing daily administrative assistance to primary care residents. The role will also collect and track critical data for continuous program evaluation, assisting faculty with mandatory annual HRSA reporting obligations and educational product dissemination. Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for supporting, promoting and coordinating the implementation, development, delivering and evaluation of multiple projects/programs. Works with internal and external parties to organize the various components needed to initiate, run and conclude major assignments, including organization and debrief of standardized patient projects. Supports, promotes and coordinates the development of research (gathering, collecting and analysis data). Facilitates the administration process of departmental activities (e.g. maintaining records, compiling and monitoring the master schedule for meetings, grant writing and submission, support in developing an annual budget, scheduling meetings, organizing and coordinating seminars, training programs and other related activities) for a manager or director of department.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Works with Faculty and Program Manager to plan and implement medical education and research initiatives.
  • Researches/gathers and collects data from different parties and presents findings and preliminary analysis as applicable.
  • Researches problems, issues and concerns and responds to requests for information.
  • Under direction, prepares and review documents and generates status/progress reports for ongoing and pending programs/projects.
  • Responds to more complex correspondence and refers the more complex issues with recommendation to supervisor.
  • Follows protocols as defined by grant and Medical Centers policies and procedures.
  • Organizes and coordinates schedules, activities and special events.
  • Provides moderate to advanced coordination for program activities to a manager or director of department that includes but not limited to: coordination of projects while working/communicating with internal and external parties to organize and coordinate the various components needed to initiate, run and conclude activities.
  • Plans, arranges, outlines and drafts letters, memos, agendas presentations and reports for leadership review.
  • Supports departmental plans, goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
  • Participates in special programs/projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Associate's degree plus one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literate with good interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in science, public health, health education or a related field. Interest in medical education, research or health care; highly developed time management skills; demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills and attention to detail; comfortable in the role of team leader and team member. Must be proficient using Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
