Job description

General Description The City of Hamilton is an EEO & AAE. Minorities and women are encouraged to apply. This position involves intern-level for Neighborhoods under the umbrella of Resident Services.

Intern will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of projects/events/programs for the City of Hamilton and 17STRONG, especially related to community development and engagement. The intern will work with Neighborhoods as well as other City Departments that would benefit from her knowledge, interest and expertise. Essential Job Functions Working in our 17 neighborhoods with cleanups, programs, projects or events Supporting the needs of the 17STRONG committees Developing content for 17STRONG Facebook, event flyers, and microgrant projects taking place during their internship Flexible work schedule to include evening and weekend 17STRONG events Driving the 17STRONG truck and Cube to 17STRONG events (training provided) Skills/Knowledges/Abilities Performs tasks designed to provide a hands-on exposure to the work field which has been chosen by the student.

May respond to telephone inquiries and provide information; may handle routine clerical functions for the work unit. May gather, compile or display information. May be assigned to a research or information-gathering task.

Assists a supervisor on varied tasks of a more advanced nature. In technical fields, may be assigned to a particular project with responsibility for many steps within the project. May perform diverse, clerical tasks and/or data entry.

Training/Education/Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 19 years of age, and; Must possess a valid driver's license [Will be verified for finalists] Preferred Qualifications: At least 21 years of age
