Job Summary:
The Center for Asthma Research at Vanderbilt University Medical Center invites applications for a Research Program Manager. We are seeking an experienced individual with training and experience in pediatric, maternal-child, or adult clinical or epidemiologic studies. The individual should ideally have experience in broad aspects of human studies, regulatory procedures, data management, translational studies, and multi-site investigations. Experience in either asthma or maternal-child health studies would be helpful, although disease content experience is not essential.
The candidate will be a leader and work within a dynamic, extramurally funded and productive clinical and epidemiologic research program focused on asthma and respiratory disease prevention within the supportive infrastructure of the Center for Asthma Research.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's or PhD in a relevant field, or significant applicable experience.
• Experience, knowledge and assistance in the coordination of human studies and/or
observational epidemiologic investigations.
• Ability to remain goal-oriented and keep investigative team on track.
• Budgetary experience, or willingness to learn budget management.
• Grant writing, scientific writing and editing experience.
• Data management, working in conjunction with data managers and programmers.
• Outstanding organizational, writing, leadership and communication skills.
• Strong research, analytical, critical thinking skills.
• Ability to organize complex projects and familiarity with REDCap and Microsoft Office
programs.
• Proactive, flexible demeanor and strong communication skills with ability to effectively
work in a team environment.

• Aide in coordinating and keeping internal and multi-site research projects on track.
• Assist in developing new grant proposals and manuscripts.
• Aide in data coordination activities.
• Experience, knowledge and assistance in the coordination of human studies and/or observational epidemiologic investigations.
