Job description

The Resale Clerk is responsible for greeting and offering assistance to customers as needed. This position supports in merchandizing, operational, warehouse and cashier functions as assigned by the store manager. This is a part-time position requiring some weekend hours.


Job Duties:


Sales Floor:


  • Greet and assist all customers, donors and clients.
  • Sign in all volunteers and community service workers.
  • Answer the phone in a professional manner - "RCC Resale, this is ______________."
  • Keep all areas organized and clean. Vacuum and mop sales floor as needed, or at least weekly.
  • Oversee the appearance and merchandise display on the sales floor.
  • Organize shelves throughout the day and rehang and organize misplaced clothing.
  • Recover the dressing room throughout the day.
  • Inform store manager of merchandise or supplies that needs to be stocked. Ensure old stock is rotated or disposed of in a timely manner.
  • Send all unpriced merchandise back to the warehouse for processing.
  • Other duties as assigned


Cashier - in addition to duties above, cashiers will be required to:


  • Set up and verify cash drawer prior to store opening.
  • Check out all customers at the cash register.
  • Perform all functions related to cash and credit/debit card transactions.
  • Carefully wrap and bag customer purchases to avoid damage of items.


Warehouse:


  • Bring in any donations that were left outside the shop after hours.
  • Greet all customers as they enter the store.
  • Sort through donations. Remove all trash and price all sellable items.
  • Place priced items out on the sales floor.
  • Assist customers with carry-outs as able.
  • Delegate the work of Volunteers and Community Services Workers in the warehouse.
  • Oversee warehouse duties assigned to Volunteers/Community Service Workers.
  • Empty all trash daily. Ensure dumpster is closed and locked before leaving the premises.
  • Inform Store Manager of higher value items ($25+) that requires an inventory number, including donated antiques or jewelry.
  • Give all cash/check donations to the store manager and receipt(s) to all donors.
  • Assist the Cashier with closing duties and verify the amount of the nightly deposit.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education & Experience


Required:


  • Adherence to RCCGC policies and procedures are required.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Regular attendance is required.


Preferred:


  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Prior retail work experience.
