Overview

The energy industry is evolving, and PPL Corporation is helping to shape how the future will look.   

To support this, the PPL Services team is looking for a Regulatory Reporting Intern in our Allentown, PA or Louisville KY office who can help us improve how we currently file rates and other regulatory reports. More specifically, this position will support filings of distribution and transmission rates and required regulatory reports with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the State Public Utility Commissions. Under the supervision of a manager, the intern will be assigned responsibilities to work on projects and programs necessary to achieve or exceed long and short-term goals.

Student must be currently enrolled full time, pursuing a bachelor's degree. This position will be approximately 3 days/week in office near you; Allentown, PA or Louisville, KY, and two days remote. The hours are part-time (~ 20-30 hours/week) during spring and fall semesters and either part-time or full-time (40 hours/week) during summers. The Company will be flexible in the part-time work schedule (8am-5pm - Monday-Friday) based on the student's class schedule.


Responsibilities
    • Prepare supporting schedules included in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and filings with the FERC, state regulatory bodies.
    • Ensure accounting and reporting is in compliance with FERC and regulatory requirements and assists with accurate and timely adoption of new regulations
    • Support the preparation of regulatory filings, including but not limited to distribution and transmission rate filings and required regulatory reports
    • Help improve control documentation and update procedures
    • Perform other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university curriculum leading to a baccalaureate or master’s degree in one of the following fields: accounting, finance, business, economics.
  • Must have a basic understanding of financial and accounting theory / principles
  • Must possess strong computer skills and be proficient with Excel spreadsheets.
  • Good communication skills are a must, both written and verbal.
  • Will graduate from their academic program within 12-24 months of internship completion.
  • Minimum 3.00 GPA
  • Eligible to work in the United States in accordance with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regulations.
  • Able to provide an official student transcript and other required information.
  • Able to work in a team environment – both in-person and virtually.
