This internship supports the Financial Reporting team by assisting with financial reporting, automation initiatives, documentation improvements, and the preparation of quarterly financial statements. The role provides hands-on experience with financial reporting processes, audit support, and the renewable energy industry while helping improve the accuracy and efficiency of department operations.ย 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support the accounting and financial reporting teams in the preparation, review, and optimization of financial reporting models
  • Enhance Workiva model automation and process efficiency
  • Assist in assembling, editing, and standardizing documentation of financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity throughout all deliverables
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to collect accounting information for audit support, external auditor inquiries, and ad hoc requests related to financial statements
  • Develop and expand knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards and the renewable energy sector

Job Requirements and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance at an accredited US university program
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis and optimization to streamline data processing and enhance accuracy and efficiency is a plus
  • Ability to work onsite in Chicago, IL throughout the summer program

Pay range: The hourly base salary range for this position in Illinois is $25.00 - $35.00 for undergraduates and $30.00 - $40.00 for graduates. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
